July 2010 Product Release

Elmhurst, IL (July 3, 2010) - Common Goal Systems, a leading developer of web-based software for schools, announces several major software enhancements to its student information system, SchoolInsight (www.schoolinsight.com). These updates will make it easier for districts and schools to manage their student data using this all-in-one, comprehensive system. The improved functionality includes:

  • A new custom student report builder has been added to SchoolInsight. This is a complete rewrite of the previous version. Users will now have the ability to run sophisticated queries on virtually all student information in the system without requiring SQL or programming expertise.

  • Credit cards will now be accepted for parents to pay lunch accounts and other fees online. Schools can offer parents this payment option via the parent portal. This upgrade will help schools to collect outstanding balances quicker, improve convenience for parents, and reduce check-processing workload for office staff.

  • Self-service online training has been added to SchoolInsight. The new web-based courseware is presented in a user-friendly, hands-on format and allows customers to learn the software at their convenience. The first online training class "Introduction to SchoolInsight Basic Setup" will help schools get up and running with the program. The online classes allow cost sensitive customers to receive training at no charge.

  • The ability to print photo Student ID Cards has been added to the system. Schools can produce sturdy and attractive color ID cards with lunch barcodes. These ID cards work seamlessly with SchoolInsight's "scan and serve" lunch module. The cards are also an effective way to ensure student safety when used to gain entry into the building.

  • SchoolInsight has updated the Race and Ethnicity structure to support changes made on the Federal level. This will assist schools in reporting students' race and ethnicity accurately.

  • "SchoolInsight continues to break ground as a competitor in the SIS market," says Pat Helmers, Vice President of Sales for Common Goal Systems. "These upgrades compliment the existing features of SchoolInsight, which include demographics, paperless attendance, report cards, discipline, health records, lunch, and more."
