Timekeeping Beta Released

SchoolInsight Financials customers often request an integrated Timekeeping module to track employees’ hours worked. We’re proud to announce that we just released a beta version of our new Timekeeping module.
The new software has many features you’d expect from a Timekeeping system for schools. The first is a web-based Time Clock intended to run on stationary computers in school buildings (and other locations like the bus barn or tool shed). Employees use it to clock in/out for their work shifts. Timestamps can be automatically rounded to the nearest time block.
We also added Time Clocks to our mobile apps. When employees install the TeacherEase app, they get a personal Time Clock. This makes it easy to clock in/out when they reach school grounds. The apps use location services to validate whether employees are physically present when clocking in/out.
The system supports employee schedules, which employees typically follow when clocking in/out. Easily identify employees who are late or work unexpected hours. Create templates to mass apply schedules to many employees at once.
As employees use timekeeping, timecards are created that will be submitted to payroll.
The system supports an approval process for supervisors to review and approve timecards. Most timecards, where employees clocked in/out according to schedule, will be mass approved. Others can be individually reviewed and approved or adjusted as necessary.
Timekeeping is integrated into payroll in SchoolInsight Financials. Approved hours flow seamlessly into the hourly wage calculation; eliminating manual entry and reducing the time required to process payroll.
Overtime calculations are handled automatically. Weekly work across multiple payroll runs are combined seamlessly. Popular algorithms like blended rate can be used to calculate overtime when employees have multiple positions with different hourly rates.
Timekeeping will be in beta for the 2026-27 fiscal year, and offered to our existing SchoolInsight Financials customers at no charge during this period.
We will be running a beta program to onboard customers to the new software. We are already engaged with a handful of initial customers, and would welcome others to join. Please expect that our beta software is not perfect, will mature over time, and that customer feedback helps with the process.
