Update to Employee Management and Missouri Positions
6/4/2025
We recently released updates to our Employee management functionality. We now offer a new Employeesbeta page, implemented with our latest technology. It has all the features you’d expect with expand/collapse of employee details, edit on the same page in stack window, and grid filter/sort. We also updated Employee-Single Viewbeta too. We hope that this delivers an improved user experience for most SIS customers.

While this is a nice upgrade, the work was primarily driven by a desire to fix long standing flaws in our handling of Missouri Educator Core and School Data. In some edge cases, customers needed to manually edit their MOSIS files (Educator School and Course Assignment) before submitting to the state. We strive to provide a complete product, and don’t think customers should need to modify SIS reports for state reporting.
Our big improvement was to add “Positions” to Employees in the SIS, which allows the appropriate MOSIS data to be configured per position. This will especially help when instructors have multiple CTE positions reported to the state. There is a new “MESD” tab to view and modify this data.
To ease the transition, we migrated existing data already in SchoolInsight. It used to be stored on Admins and Instructors, so we created equivalent Positions for the Employee and populated them with data on the new pages.
Employee positions have long been used in SI-Financials for payroll, and we didn’t want the new functionality to collide with customers’ existing payroll setup. So we added a flag for positions, “Hide from Payroll”, if some are used for MOSIS reporting but not payroll. There are also a few existing permissions that Financials Users can use to restrict SIS users access to Employee data.
To learn more about the changes to employees, please join our free webinar tomorrow, Thursday, June 5th at 1:30PM CT. Preregistration is required using this link: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ChKc6-__SpSEBr9y08fZtA
We hope that everyone likes the new Employee pages, and that MO users enjoy the improvements to state reporting. As always, feel free to send us feedback if you have thoughts on the new functionality.
