7 Easy Items to Check Before 2025-26 Starts
School is about to start and we would like to share a checklist of items to review for a successful first day of school.
If you are still in the midst of the yearly rollover process, you can rely on the following resources:

Article and checklist: How do I rollover to the next academic year?
Activate the 2025-26 Academic Year
Only active academic years allow teachers to enter gradebook data and parents/students to track their progress. Close previous years to archive data, and make the 2025-26 academic year active.
Assign Cycle Days
To complete your Scheduling module setup in 2025-26, you should assign cycle days for every attendance day of the year. This informs the system which classes meet on every school day, and enables taking attendance and displaying the correct schedules to teachers, parents, and students.
Enter Grading Period Dates
Add the start and end dates for each quarter, term, or fall and spring grading period. Attendance can be taken on days within the start and end dates of such grading periods.
Activate First Grading Period
Just like academic years, teachers can create assignments and enter gradebook grades in open grading periods. For this reason, mark the first grading period active and close the remaining ones.
Update Food Item Prices
Food item prices change from year to year. Update the free, reduced, and full prices to be ready to charge the correct amounts on the first day of school.
Copy Report Cards
Report cards are not due until a few weeks from now, but many state reports depend on them.
Reset Google Classroom Access Token
If you integrate Google Classroom with the TeacherEase gradebook, then we recommend resetting the connection between both platforms.
Google Classroom disables this integration due to low usage over summer, and a Google Classroom Super Admin can disable and re-enable the sync in SchoolInsightto make sure it is up and running on day one in the new academic year.
We wish you a happy new academic year!
